P. Nandi Szabo combines art and dance training with clinical training in psychology to create a holistic healing process that furthers the emotional, physical and spiritual integration of the individual and/or group. Expressive therapy is a combination of traditional psychotherapy and the intentional use of creative arts to promote healing and well-being.

Through workshops, retreats, and dance/movement therapy support groups, Szabo uses movement and art as a vehicle for healing, personal growth, self-understanding and group cohesiveness. She translates the healing potential of the arts into her work with those with physical and emotional issues, having worked with children, the chronically and mentally ill, as well as with healthy growth-minded individuals. Recently she has been using art and movement with women recovering from breast cancer.

Szabo holds a master's degree in expressive therapy with an emphasis in dance from Lesley College, Cambridge, MA. She is approved by the American Dance Therapy Association to provide individual dance/movement therapy and training in the field, and facilitates workshops and retreats for hospitals, corporations, educational groups and social service organizations. As well as maintaining a private practice and consulting business called Creative Interventions in Sacramento, Szabo also teaches at Sacramento City College.
